Commercial Real Estate/Community Development Broker from Kenya

I am a trained journalist, and have also studied community development for my Masters. After teaching as a part-time lecturer on resource mobilization and fundraising, I determined to test what I was teaching in real life, and I wrote a funding proposal for an OVC project to some funders. Lo and behold! It went through. It was quite shocking for me to realize that there are actually people out there who are interested in funding/granting money for community development projects.

So, I realized that my writing skills, as well as my understanding of community development could help me help communities here in Kenya. However, I know practically NOTHING about the financing sector.

Since then, I have been mulling over the idea of helping Kenyans with bright community development/real estate ideas link up with financiers. So far, I have THREE community projects that require financing. I am willing to act as coordinator and ensure that high-calibre feasibility studies are carried out, good business plans are developed, and all viability assessments and licensing details are procured for each of the projects (and hopefully others in future). I am also willing to act as intermediary/seeker for financiers, BUT, I don't really know where to start on this type of financing.

I need people who know better, to help me know how to go about this dream. The projects would create employment, build the communities, and meet other diverse socio/economic/cultural needs of the communities that I am talking about, but also have a high ROI for the financier.

I look forward to help from this site.

Thanks much
