New investor Jacksonville FL

Hi everyone! I'm new to investing and gathering all the knowledge I possibly can prior to me retiring from the Navy. My plan is to buy 2 to 3 SFH properties cash in the Jacksonville FL area to start with and use them as leverage to invest in 1 a year thereafter. I'm not looking to flip them but to rent them. I'm currently stationed in Sasebo Japan for the next year but will invest once I leave here. While I'm here I plan to save every dollar I can and I should be able to have over 120K to start with. I'm really good with construction and working with my hands. I have done everything from sheet-rock to hardwood floors to roofing and plan to fix my first properties myself with the help of my brothers until I get the ball rolling and can afford to hire contractors. I'm looking forward to networking with you. Have a great day!
