Hi Bigger Pockets members. My name is Maggie and I joined up recently and I've been diligently listening to all of the Podcasts while I drive a semi truck OTR (over the road) for a living. My main objective is to get off the road and into real estate full time flipping and creating passive income. I know I will need advice on how to buy properties from the road if that's even possible.

I was an independent painting and decorating contractor for 28 years and have a lot of knowledge under my proverbial belt about how the construction industry in residential works as well as how to deal with contractors. My ex husband and I worked together as a team, him the general and me the painter/decorator. I got tired of being under the brush and roller and decided to start flipping in 2013. After tons and tons of submitted offers I finally landed a sweet deal in Sherman Oaks, California for $250,000. It was a condo that needed some TLC. I did work as my own general contractor as well as using my skills as a decorator and went to town. Three months after closing on the purchase to the close of escrow on the sale I had $28,000 profit. Yay, I was on a roll! EEEEK, not so fast. I proceeded to submit another 40 offers and even went so far as $10-15,000 above asking. No deal. There was just too much competition out there. So I gave up and hung up my flipping hat. I wish I had found Bigger Pockets way back then, I would have never given up my flipping hat! Now I will continue to learn from everyone and hopefully I can start buying again.
