Hi,

My name is Richard Tsai and since I am new, this post will just specify my plan and goal with BP and Real Estate in general.  I been reading and listening to BP for a little bit so I thought it wouldn't hurt to introduce myself. I hope to be an active contributor later on but for now I will mainly just lurk around in the forums.

My Plan
First of all, I don't have much experience in real estate so I need to have a plan to get comfortable with it.

My plan now is to really just ease into real estate for now. So specifically, I am reading bigger pocket forums and some books Saturday and Sunday. Sometimes I would listen to the podcast during the weekday when I go to the gym. I also plan on visiting the Traction Reia event on October 20 in Tysons if that's possible. These are just some things I came up with to ease into RE...

If I decide RE is right for me by reading on BP and such, my future plan would probably be to sign up for an online real estate class with Moseley and get my RE Salesman Certification.  I don't know if there are other ways.  For now I am just thinking about getting closer to the real estate business and being around people that does this.

My Goal
I think my biggest goal with real estate, with all honesty, is to make money. But if I think about it, what do I do with the money? I would actually say, I like to have more options in life and money brings options.  I would like to have some spare money to sign up for hobby classes or classes that can improve me as a person.

Also, If I learn more about real estate, then I would have some influence in that area; I would have the option to help people in this area... Everyone needs a place to live or want to have more money, so I would think knowing some real estate makes sense.

The bigger picture would be for me to understand my community more and possibly influence it somehow. I'd also like to reach out more to people so there is also that, using real estate as a way to reach out to people (although there are probably better ways to do so).

Helping people and being a positive influence in the community makes me feel happy at a fundamental and primal level.  I don't think I can go any deeper than this.  To be of use.

All these goals are all very vague but that is just because I am new and am not sure what to expect.

So those are really my plan and goal for BiggerPockets and RE in general. Thanks for reading and I hope I'll make some sort of contribution to the forums someday.
