Hi All:

I was turned onto BiggerPockets by way of Brandon Turner's book "The Book on Rental Property Investing." I was a Commercial Real Estate Broker in both Kansas City & Chicago for 4 years. I was burnt out and changed career paths 4 years ago. The real estate fire has remained in me and I've always had a desire to get back into the game in some capacity.

My primary & initial goal is to acquire a couple of single family homes either in Chicago or Kansas City. I'm looking for properties that may be in less desirable or up and coming neighborhoods that have some risk but produce solid returns. My prior real estate experience has left me with a general understanding of real estate fundamentals, but hardly has prepared me to be an expert on the residential side. Looking for deals that are <$100,000 to get my feet wet.

I've heard a lot of great things about the resources and feedback in this forum - looking forward to the back and forth.
