Greetings BP community. My first introduction to real estate investing was an infomercial on Carlton Sheets products when I was in High School. (Anyone ever see those? It's been over a decade.) But it wasn't until earlier this year when found Paula Pants website, AffordAnything.com that I understood how powerful passive income could be. I was hungry to learn more about real estate investing and I began listening to the BiggerPockets podcast about three months ago. I joined the forum a little shy of two months ago and I've been bitten! This is my first post but I've been reading as many articles and forum posts as my eyes and brain can handle.

I'm a complete newbie to real estate investing. California is an expensive market to get into so I thought Florida might be a good option. I have family in Florida and I visit often. My goal is to build a portfolio to supplement or even early retirement. I'd probably just retire from my day job not from life :) I have a full time job so I will be building this portfolio very slowly and will focus on the Buy and Hold strategy.

Excited to announce I've made my first offer on a multifamily! This is scary and exciting at the same time.

1st lesson I learned? Cash is king! I have way too much money in my 401k plan. Anyone else run into this? If I knew then what I knew now... Looking forward to learning from all of you.
