Hello New to bigger pockets and new to real estate investing

Hello everyone. My name is Rubin Williams. Im new to Bigger pockets and Im also new to real estate investing. I went to a class with Prosperity Real Estate Grp. If anyones heard of them. I’ve been doing the direct mail, bandit signs, driving for dollars, advertising on craigslist and back page but those sites are so flooded with investors doing the same thing Im mot sure how I could stand out from the rest. The only real feed back I have received from people is that some investors have left a bad taste in some peoples mouths and word of mouth travels quick. So what Im asking is for some advise on what to do. Can anyone help me?? I was recently told to get a mentor which is good but right now I can’t afford it.  I feel that when I get my first deal this might not be so hard to do. For now  I can’t figure out what I’m doing wrong. Please help
