Hi all,

My name is Jason. I am 31 years old and have been working as a Registered Nurse in NYC for the last 3 1/2 years.

Before working as a nurse, I worked in various low-level positions in the financial sector.

I have always yearned for a life where I would one day become financially independent and not have to rely on an employer for my primary source of income.

This yearning came to me at an early age. When I was 15 I bought products from wholesale liquidators and overseas manufacturers to sell on eBay. I even learned how to file my own taxes (although I probably didn't know exactly what I was doing at the time).

Today that yearning is stronger than ever. I graduated from college 3 1/2 years ago and got a job in this profession so I could use my earnings to fund my investments.

After stumbling across Biggerpockets a couple of years ago, I came to the realization that real estate is where I'd like to be.

I am hoping to get into purchasing single family homes, renting them out, and ultimately do the same with multi-family properties in areas near NYC (including areas in NJ that are in close proximity to the city).

If you have any experience in these areas, or any tips for me, feel free to send me a reply or a personal message.
