New Real Estate Investor

Hello Everyone,

My name is Jordan and I am fairly new to BiggerPockets. I am currently serving active duty Marine Corps and am interested in learning the ins and outs of buy and hold real estate investing to prepare me when I separate from active duty in a little over a year. My plan is to build a real estate empire with at least 50 homes by age 30 (8 years out) and eventually use the money from my buy and hold business to branch out commercially. I have a solid plan to use my VA loan as a foundation builder which allow me to buy my primary residence with no money down, and plan on using financing on my first investment property. I would like any advice possible for the first few steps necessary to get started with my initial investment property.
