Hi everyone!

I'm new to the real estate world but I am hungry for knowledge and to network and learn from some incredible people who have been successful in real estate. For the last 3 months I have just been diving into different resources from books to online articles to podcasts (which is where I found BiggerPockets) and even meeting with a few people who I knew were in real estate to see where they got their start and what my next steps should be.

My current career is in tech marketing and I love it but I am not a 9-5 cubicle type person AT ALL. I am creative, love to explore and people fascinate me. So basically I'm looking for financial freedom and a brighter future and to get out of the broke mindset that so many people around me have.

My first question to this is obviously "where should I start??" I've gotten many opinions on this but I want to hear from the community. Did you all spend a lot of time researching about how to do things properly or did you just jump right in and buy a fixer-upper, fix it yourself and start learning?

Thanks!!

Quick crash course in wholesale:

Canvass neighborhoods looking for distressed properties. Calculate possible arv to make sure it makes sense. Get property under contract, while in contract with owner find an investor who wants to buy for more than your contract price. Simultaneous close on the property and you walk away with a few thousand in your pocket.
