Hello BP members. I am a new user from Huntington, NY. I work in the Allied Health field here on Long Island and am looking to create some extra cash flow through REI. I am looking to buy properties to rent (SFR, MF, Apartment/Townhome, etc), most likely in areas outside of New York. Any advice for investing outside your geographical area, especially for newbies, would be appreciated. Thank you.

Thank you @Shanel Wiggins and @Jack Butala for your suggestions and words of encouragement.  I've started reading blogs and posts and listened to an older podcast on out of state investing.  I'm looking into some markets and starting to narrow down my goals (I'm leaning more turnkey at this point).
