I am deployed right now but doing my best to learn and save my pennies. I would ask the veterans out there, is 50k cash enough to make a good start with? Thank you all and hope to grow and be an asset in the future. Jeremy

@Jeremy Elcox

Welcome and thank you for your service!  We appreciate you.

The quick and short answer is yes, 50k is plenty of cash to start with.  With 50k your looking at a down payment for a solid rental property and perhaps even two at lower price points.  50k is enough for a solid multi-unit property as well.  You are also set to get a hard money loan and flip a property if you desired to go that route.

Many people, myself included, started with very little money or none at all.  I would encourage you to learn how to best leverage your money and not use it all up on your first deal.   50k can go a long way when used correctly.  Continue to educate yourself and look into low or no money down strategies.
