Hello, everyone! I'm new to this forum and to the real estate world. I joined the US Air Force a year ago and since then, have moved a small chunk into a mutual fund in order to get started with my financial freedom.
As a 20 year old married man with a dog and cat, I have different obligations than the regular 20 year old and have turned into a real penny pincher. I'm all about living within our means, especially if it means that we will grow financially.
Right now, I'm looking into buying my first property, a duplex. I've read a little bit on it. I think the best place to ask this question is on my introduction so I can start a conversation with members of the forum and get to know you guys.
What do you guys think about buying a duplex as my first property? I'm going to get a 30 year fixed VA, so I won't have to put any money down, sound investment right?
