Madison, WI, Military Veteran, Noob, ready to learn/work

Greetings everybody,

My name is Eric and after reading a few books/articles on REI off and on for 10 years, I think I'm ready to take the plunge.

A friend of mine showed me this website and I've been obsessively listening to the podcasts and lurking the forum for a couple weeks now.

I'm from the west in the US, mainly Phoenix and Las Vegas, but have lived in a suburb of Madison, WI for the last 6 years.

My wife and I have no debt, good credit, a little wiggle room each month, a few thousand cash, a few more thousand open credit cards, and a will to learn with a drive to succeed.

I'm planning on attending the August 8th meeting at the Madison REIA and have reached out to a Real Estate agent and Lender in my area in an attempt to start building a network in this community.

I'm a veteran of the 82nd airborne with a strong work ethic, and I played poker full-time in Las Vegas for a few years. So I also have a good understanding/ability to learn the numbers side, as well as a never-ending gambling itch to scratch.

I hope to get more involved in the BiggerPockets community while linking up with somebody to learn from in the Madison area. 

I think initially I'd like to be a part of a few flips and build/reinvest those profits into rentals. 

I look forward to learning more sbout REI and getting to know the community.
