Young Buck from Houston with an interest in REI

Hi,

I recently discovered BP while browsing for REI advice. Over the course of two weeks, I've done my best to devour as much information provided on the podcasts, and on this site as possible. I've been shocked on how much content there is in the form of guides and knowledgeable members who post on the forums.

With the help of BP, and some supplemental reading in the way of Rich Dad Poor Dad, The Intelligent Investor, and a few guides to Real Estate Investing; I've gone from financially illiterate to reading at probably a second grade level. It's been great fun so far, and I'm enjoying the learning experience.

Lastly, I don't want to fall into the trap of having a good deal of head knowledge about a subject but never acting on said knowledge. I have a couple bulletin board goals, but what I most want is to put myself in a position (hopefully soon) to execute when I find my first deal.

Most of the posters and the podcast guests state that experience is the best teacher, and that the money is made in the buying. Those are easy truths for someone as thick-skulled as I am.

With that said, I look forward to conversing with the members of this site, and hopefully to test the saying "There are no stupid questions" to the fullest.

Cheers,

Josh

p.s.- I should have included that I'm located in Houston and would jump at the chance to learn more from the seasoned investors (Old Bulls) either via the internet or over a cup of coffee. Thanks!
