Hello everyone, my name is Gus Jensen, and I am about to turn 24. I just graduated from the Air Force Academy and will be working at USAFA until April of 2017. My goal is to learn as much as I can from this community and slowly build up some cash (via saving) so that when I move to Oklahoma in April for pilot training, I will be able to buy a house (maybe one that is in distress?) and work on it for that year that I am in pilot training. Once I finish pilot training, I would like to rent the unit out so that it serves as an asset for positive cash flow. (I realize it won't go as smoothly as planned, and this is all tentative, but for now this is what my goals are) Eventually, I want to get into RE investing where I am buying and selling multiple units and upgrading using the 1031 differed tax, but I figured starting small would be the bet avenue for me.

Looking forward to joining this community!

Go Birds!

@Augustus Jensen

Welcome have a buddy who closed deals including 242 units while deployed.

Locate and attend 3 different local REIA club meetings great place to meet people gather resources and info. Here you will meet wholesalers who provide deals and rehabbers (cash buyers). Find them through Google and meetup.com Do this via phone till you visit.

Two Great reads, I bought both J. Scott The Book on Flipping Houses, The Book on Estimating ReHab Costs http://www.biggerpockets.com/flippingbook
