Hello BiggerPockets Community,

My name is Randi Williams. I am a south Louisiana transplant who's lived in Atlanta for 14 years. I am an elementary teacher and recently finished a Ph.D. in curriculum and instruction. After completing that formal endeavor, I promised myself my next pursuit would be purely self-taught and FUN. Enter BiggerPockets. I am completely new to real estate investing and currently educating myself on the fundamental basics. In typical want-to-be-real-estate-investor fashion, my interest was piqued by no other than Robert Kiyosaki. Judging from previous introductions, Rich Dad, Poor Dad seems to be the gateway book to REI. I knew I would be a fool not to further investigate the world of passive income. So, here I am, trying not to be a fool while introducing myself on a real estate forum where I practically have to look up every other word. Let the real estate adventure begin! My short-term goal is to be an active real estate investor by 2017, specific property type and strategy are yet to be determined. I am still reading the succinct, yet thorough, Ultimate Beginners Guide. Special thanks to BP for the free resources; my student loan thanks you. I am eagerly looking forward to being a part of the BP community of learners.

Best,

Randi Williams
