New Investor in Tyler, TX Area

Hello, my name is Dan Shea. My wife and I just purchased our first rental property in April in the Tyler, TX area and have it rented out as of June! We are currently managing the property ourselves, and we are looking forward to pick up another property soon.  I am a 30 yo full time petroleum engineer, and my wife is a stay at home mom with 2 kids, 5yo and 3 yo.

My current goals with real estate are to diversify my investments, but most importantly to establish passive income so that I may one day replace my current salary with rental property cash flow, freeing my time and location to do more important things such as giving back to the community, spending more time with family, seeing new places, and experiencing new activities. 

I came across BiggerPockets as I was researching real estate investing the past 2 years, it has been a wealth of information, and I hope to one day give back as much as I have taken from this site so far.  Thanks, I look forward to meeting/connecting with other investors/RE professionals here.
