Hello from Orlando
Hello everyone, my name is Shawn Sonny, I was born in NJ, raised in Jacksonville Fl, and am currently living and working in Orlando. I recently became interested in real estate when my circle of influence changed after my move to Orlando. I had purchased my first home in Jacksonville when I was 25, technically I was house hacking and didn't know it because I had a high school friend of mine staying with me while he waited for his house to be built.
Fast forward to 2016 and I've been working for the same company since 2004 (while in high school) and I currently drive semi trucks locally for them. I have built a decent amount of money in my 401k and stock with the company (private stock). My goals are to build enough passive income for me and my fiancé and future children we may have so that I can enjoy life and have financial freedom. I am willing to learn every aspect of real estate from wholesale, house flipping, rent, rehab and the BRRR methods.
I have listened to about 8 or 9 podcasts from BP and really do enjoy the stories. So far the books I've read are investing in tax liens by Larry B. Loftis and the famous Rich dad poor dad book. I do have a goal to read one book a month for the rest of my life and air far so good (I'm only two months in).
I'm pretty sure I haven't covered everything in my introduction so if anyone has any questions or has advice to give my eyes and ears are open.
