Junior in College looking to start investing in Real Estate

I am completely new to the idea of Real Estate investing. I have read a few books and listened to multiple podcasts but I am really trying to take the next step and start early in real estate investing career. I know most of these gurus that we try to take advice from preach to you about how easy it is to get started in this process and hook you in then try to sell you some extremely overpriced product but I wanted to hear from some people on a more similar process their journey or experiences. If anyone has some tips that could help me get started on this journey that would be extremely helpful.

Thanks,

Chris
