New it's looking to invest in condo vacation rentals in AL & MN

Hello everyone,

My husband and I are researching possible investment condos in both AL and MN.  A management company expense would be included as we are located in Texas.  Property taxes are high in Tx so we are leaning away from condos here for that main reason but Tx is our primary residence.  We hope to visit and stay in both places but just a few weeks out of the year so it's primarily an income property idea.

We are both retired but young (40s) and looking for a new career that is fulfilling so we are testing the waters.  Either way we'd like to visit these two locations and perhaps make some money that pays for itself and a bit more if this isn't our niche.

We are reading anything we can and my husband is also taking a real estate course (Tx) to become more knowledgable or perhaps even pursue that as a new career.

Certainly open to any and all suggestions and will continue searching blogs, reading materials, podcasts etc.

Regards,

Lisa & Ryan
