Hey everyone! I'm Brooke and I’m here for the same reason as many of you- to connect with local like-minded individuals passionate about establishing financial independence through investing in real estate in San Diego.

My husband and I are newbies to investing. We are experienced DIY homeowners- recently completing extensive rehab and remodel projects on our 1920’s North Park home (lots of hard work, but also lots of fun!). Real estate investing resonates with us so, we’ve gotten our finances in order and are actively looking for our first investment property! Yes, right now!

We're looking for a value-add SFH or multi-family property that cash flows or has potential to cash flow once fixed up in a decent neighborhood. We spend time each weekend driving through different neighborhoods to get familiar with what's out there… and ultimately narrow in on our comfort zone because we'd like to manage the property ourselves to learn the ins and outs of being a landlord.

Are you able to share any recommendations for neighborhoods you believe would be good for us get our feet wet in for our first purchase and landlord experience?

Our favorites so far are Clairemont (we used to live there), Imperial Beach, Golden Hill, Grant Hill… also we’re looking at Logan Heights – thoughts? Other recommendations to check out?

Any and all advice you’re willing to share would be fantastic and appreciated very much. Thank you in advance!

Brooke
