Re-Newed wholesaler in San Diego
Hello everyone,
My name is Alex and I am a new wholesaler born and raised here in San Diego. If you're wondering about the "re-newed" line in the title, let me explain.
This is not my first time posting in the new member introduction. I know I know I'm sure I'm breaking some rule but I felt I needed to reintroduce myself here as a way of holding myself accountable that this time I am FULLY committed to becoming a real estate entrepreneur!
I started out like so many others SUPER motivated. I listened to all the podcasts, devoured books, watched a ton of YouTube videos, went to a BP meetup here in San Diego ( which was an awesome learning experience everyone should try and attend these events!) did some door knocking, talked to some sellers, and even partnered up with Luis, another local wholesaler to try and land a probate deal which unfortunately fell through, and it was right at that very frustrating moment that the worst thing that could happen to me happened....I was offered a promotion.
If you haven't already guessed, I accepted the job. I took out my old faithful pair of glasses that allow me to see in perfect "short sighted" vision, saw how much more money I'd be making per hour (time for money) and told myself " hey it's not a big deal I can still do real estate in my spare time, nothing is going to change ( justifying my greed and stupidity with false promises to myself) well the problem was that there wasn't any spare time. More money meant more stress, looonger hours, and ZERO energy left at the end of the day to play with my kids and spend time with my wife much less work on real estate!
Anyway long story short ( I'm sure half of you stopped reading bynow) I had to re-evaluate my choice and decide what I truly wanted, and working 12 hour days, 6 days a week with variable shifts was NOT it. So I have essentially demoted myself, cut my salary, and probably burned any bridges of advancement in the future. Who am I kidding, there was no future, at least not one I was interested in being a part of. This business, this site, this community of rockstars, THIS is the future that I want and I am 100% committed!
Once again my name is Alex, and I am here to stay.
