New in Tampa, ready to learn

Hi everyone! My name is Nathan and I am a recent transplant to the Tampa region, originally from the Buffalo, NY area. I admit that I do not have nearly the amount of real estate experience that a lot of people on BP may have, but I do own a single-family home back in NY that I kept and am renting out right now. So I am at least familiar with the process of purchasing a home, finding tenants, responding to issues, maintenance/operating costs, drafting leases, etc. I also have worked in the banking industry for over 7 years and have my MBA, so I am no stranger to the business world as a whole.

As far as goals for my real estate career, like many people, my wife and I are tired of the 9-5 cubicle life...and we would still have many years left if we stayed on that path. So we are looking for a more creative, proven way to escape that world. I know it won't happen overnight, but I know I have the passion and you have to start somewhere right?

So I decided to try out Bigger Pockets because it has such a great reputation in the industry for being a fantastic source of knowledge and a place to connect with fellow real estate enthusiasts. I'm looking forward to getting things going here in Tampa!
