Skills to have in a real-estate investing career?

Hello all,

Very happy with the information I've gotten here and on the podcasts so far. My mid-term plan is to buy a few houses and then rent them out for a steady stream of income.

I may make a separate forum post on this, but I didn't search that hard for old threads.

What skills are helpful to have in a real-estate investing career? I was thinking about going into carpentry. I figure that would be immensely helpful in a real-estate career.

I also thought about getting a job working for a property management company. They're not hiring in my area though.

Anyway, thanks for the time. I look forward to BiggerPockets and real-estate experience!

PS. I really hope this question doesn't qualify as a mentor request. I guess we'll see.
