Hi All,
My name is Chad Coleman and I live in the Berkley area of northwest Denver. Homeowner but haven't started investing yet. I did order a fix and flip manual from an infomercial way back in the 90s during high school...so I have sat on a good idea for 20 years. Hoping that this type of community will help provide the kick in the pants I need! I was a new mortgage broker in San Diego when the sky started falling back in 2008 and was still too nervous and hesitant to jump in when the market was down. Feel like the train has left the station here in Denver and I am not on it, so want to learn as much as I can as quickly as I can to be able to recognize a deal and act on it if I find one. I am a Sustainability Project Manager at one of the large architecture firms in Denver and have two young children; a daughter who is 2 1/2 and an 8 month old baby boy. The last 3 yrs has been just a little crazy. My dream is to make a living with fix and flips and slowly build a rental portfolio as I go. I love hands on work and wouldn't mind taking on a new project every day, even though I know that this is not always advised. I also have family in Nebraska and am thinking it might be a good place to buy some multifamily properties, although the property tax is double the tax here in CO and it seems like appreciation doesn't exist in many of the areas. Maybe purchasing another owner occupied house and keeping my current house as my first rental is the best first step. Lots to learn. I look forward to hearing from and connecting with you!
