Newbie from Rochester NY, studying in Boston, MA
Hello BP Community,
I am a 20 year old student from Rochester NY currently studying at Endicott College, just outside of Boston. I have been intrigued by real estate investing for quite some time now (since I was about 15) and figured that this was the best place to start. I currently am running my own company that develops mobile applications however I want to get my feet wet in real estate! I am dedicated to learning the business and wish to build a network of investors to learn from and do business with. I am excited to be apart of the BP community and look forward to conversing with you all!!

Welcome. Take a good look at student housing see below. Your major will be a big help in real estate.
Check out the Start Here page http://www.biggerpockets.com/starthere
Locate and attend 3 different local REIA club meetings great place to meet people gather resources and info. Here you will meet wholesalers who provide deals and rehabbers (cash buyers). Find them through Google and meetup.com Reach out to @Mike Hurney and @Justin Silverio who have meetings near you.
Two Great reads, I bought both J. Scott The Book on Flipping Houses, The Book on Estimating ReHab Costs http://www.biggerpockets.com/flippingbook
You might consider Niche or Specialized Housing like student housing. Rents can be 2-4 times more. Remember you don't have to own a property to control it.
Download BP’s newest book here some good due diligence in Chapter 10. Real Estate Rewind Starting over
Good Luck
