Hi all, I am a complete newbie to real estate investing but fortunately I found BP so I'm confident that will change soon. I'm hooked on the podcast and recently started reading through the forums, but to be honest I'm not even sure what I'm looking for yet, just trying to soak it all in. What I am sure of is that I want to find a way to ensure that I can provide for my young family even if things go sour at my 9-5.
I'm kind of a tech geek at heart (my primary job is network analyst/IT) and I love to teach myself all things tech/electronic/software but as my wife so nicely put it.."your hobbies are taking time away from your family and not really putting anything back. Is there anything out there that you might find interesting but could also benefit us"?
Long story short, I'm a regular listener to TWiT podcasts and recently heard Clayton Morris (from Fox and Friend's) on an episode and really enjoyed his commentary. At some point in the show he plugged his RE investment podcast and something he said really sparked my interest so I made a note to check out his website and podcast. After listening to him I was intrigued about the idea of real estate investing and I'm the type who researches everything so I set out to find the best online community of knowledgeable investors where I can learn how to do this right from the very beginning. So that is why I'm here.
My goals over the next 4-6 months are to learn as much from reading and network with those who have been in my position already. I don't want to become a story of someone who gets on here and makes a few posts but two years later is still looking for answers before I make my first deal.
I'm excited to be on here and really hope to gain tremendous insight and knowledge from as many of you as I can over the coming months.
Thanks,
Wes
