New Member - Live in DC, from New England
Hi!
I'm Greer Hunter. I am 22 and graduated from University of Maryland in May 2015. I live in Washington, DC in Woodley Park. I work at a boutique PR firm that represents local real estate development companies. I have no personal experience with real estate beyond my obsession with HGTV. I grew up in Sudbury, MA and spent my summers in Jamestown/Newport, Rhode Island. I hope to invest in a rental property in Newport soon. That is actually what prompted me to join Bigger Pockets. I look forward to connecting with you all!

@Greer Hunter welcome to BP. The free guides under the "education" tab are a good place to start. Good luck, and feel free to reach out if you need anything :)

Greer Hunter - welcome to DC. I grew up in western mass then lived in Wayland for several years before moving to DC. This is an excellent site to get a free education and recommend you use it to take full advantage of it

Hey Greer Hunter ! I'm not in Newps but in RI so feel free to reach out if you're in the area. Im in Worcester often as well and I'm new also to the site and just searching for my first property but this site has been an excellent resource for learning. I'd recommend the podcast and the 7 years to 7 figure wealth. It's a quick read and I think it puts you in a good mind set.
Greer Hunter, welcome!
@Greer Hunter welcome! I was born and raised in Montgomery County, just outside of DC and I live in Newport RI now. The market up here is tough to get in on, early that is. I would suggest reading and educating yourself through the free material suggested above on this site and then read plenty books. It wouldn't hurt to check out available properties (or lack thereof) in the Newport/Jamestown area. I too am searching for properties but more likely up in Providence. Let me know if you have any questions. More than happy to help.
