HI! I am brand new to real estate investing (my husband, Bill and I are working on our first deal - though we have previously owned our own homes) and just want to introduce myself. We're both self employed doing other work (him - graphic design, me - consulting for non-profits) and we have a daughter in college and a son going into high school. We both have our parents who are aging and want to be able to help care for them as well...None of us have retirement or savings yet. We heard about BP in a REI class we took in May, so we joined to connect with other folks who know more than we do, increase our education and network. So far we've been learning a lot from the webinars and have been evaluating local properties, reaching out to agents and researching lenders. Our plan includes flipping and selling houses in and around Okanogan, Omak and other nearby communities in North Central Washington...The inventory of quality, affordable housing is limited and rental market is even more challenging. The upside is that prices in this part of Washington are still quite good. With all that said, we are most grateful for positive thoughts, encouragement and advice on investing in a region that is still finding its way. - Chanelle
