I am a structural engineer in my mid 20's currently pursuing a master's degree. Investing has become a passionate hobby of mine which naturally led me to real estate. I'll be finishing up my degree soon which will free up more hours for my new hobby and I look forward to putting in the time.

Currently, I am saving up for my first investment and hope to be in the market by mid to late 2017, if the right deal can be made. I'm still learning about real estate and haven't chosen a path. As of now, I'm leaning towards house hacking my first investment and implementing a buy and hold strategy of single family and multifamily homes from there. However, I need to further study my market before I'm willing to commit.

I would love to talk to someone familiar with the St. Louis market and where it is heading; not only for investment purposes but just out of curiosity as a local citizen. It seems to me that there are several large apartment complexes in development between St. Louis's two downtown areas and I'm curious to hear an experience REI's perspective on it.
