NYC Real Estate investing

Hi all. I'm sure these new member intros get a bit repetitive. Anyway, I'm a young professional in the NYC area looking to finally break into real estate. Two years ago, I began investing in stocks, options, futures, and forex which consumed a lot of my time and had a long learning curve. Now that I have that down and know how to cashflow in that market I am looking to get into real estate. I discovered the Bigger Pockets podcast by accident in November and have been listening to it religiously for the past 6 months (currently 70 episodes in). I've absorbed a lot of content and ready to get started now.

I'm teaming up with my uncle (who's a veteran contractor and owns a construction company) and is completing his first two flips. Since he owns the company, it gives us a competitive advantage as he's able to get the work done faster and cheaper. My friend who will be joining us is a junior architect working at an architectural firm and is able to help with the paperwork and regulations. I'm looking to network with a more experienced investor in the NYC/Long Island/New Jersey area who is willing to share some of the finer details of REI, finding deals, and may want to link up.

Thanks guys and looking forward to interacting with you all. Feel free to post any recommendations as I realize NYC isn't the easiest market to get started in.
