Just moved to San Francisco from Germany - new to investing

Good evening,

my name is Janet, 28 and I just moved from Hamburg, Germany to San Francisco. I already lived here  1 ½ year while doing my Master Degree in International Business 5 years ago.

San Francisco is the place to be for my american Fiancè and me. He just started working here for a german mobile tech company. For me, I want to gain knowledge about how to invest in apartments. I am new to investing, although my family invested in some properties back in Germany, where I helped with. But San Francisco and the USA is totally different, so I joined this forum to learn as much as possible.

Furthermore I am a communicative person and I would love to find people with investment experience in San Francisco, who would be open to meet for a coffee and talk about this topic further.

I have in mind to (slowly) build a portfolio of apartments, which I rent out to tenants and which I manage. Back in Germany, I was managing an apartment renting company, which I really enjoyed because I love to organize and coordinate :). That´s what´s on my mind right now, but I am actually very open to learn about different investment methods here in San Francisco and which will fit me best.

Looking very much forward to get in touch with nice, positive and knowledgable persons!

Cheers,

Janet
