New to Real Estate - Advice on Markets??

Hello!

We are new as a family to investing and currently live in Salisbury, MD. I have not been able to find a REI club in our area. From looking aroung our market here seems to be an ok market - most houses rent for about 850. Is there anyone who lives/invests on the Eastern Shore/Delmarva Peninsula that has insight into this market? Is there any nearby markets in VA, NC, SC that would be recommended? My father-in-law own a maintenance and construction business and my wife and Sister-in-law have the time available for research and research. Would appreciate any advice!
