Hello from UK
Hello everybody. I was recommended to go onto BG by reddit for its great advice and community.
So.. my name is Martin, I'm 20 years old and I wish to pursue F/I. I dabble in stocks atm but I have heard great stories of achieving FI through Real estate. I started reading up on "The Millionaire Investor" by Gary Keller and have just finished it a couple days ago.
While reading this book and reading other stories on Real estate, it seems like a lot of the housing over the US is less expensive than the UK. Property prices in my area which consist of 4 Bedrooms 2 bathrooms start at £250k, I believe. When I read many of the posts from reddit or stories from "The Millionaire Investor", a lot of them were bought at much more lower prices at around $10k-100k.
Also I have read about the 1% rule for rents from the book, so a $100k property should command $1k rent per month. How realistic is this? I have asked some friends/family and they say that isnt possible.
Thank you,
Martin
