Hello all! I am an aspiring real estate investor with goals if becoming my own landlord. I've been researching this avenue for about 1.5 years consistently and am looking in to jumping in sooner than later. Any advice or tips are welcomed! I'm excited to be here and learn.

Welcome Shautauqua!

Three thoughts:

1) read as much as you can online... But understand this: "You Learn The Real Estate Business By Doing It!" So...

2) Visit as many local (active) RealEstate clubs, or REIAs as feasible and ask everyone you meet, "who are the active investors in this part of town?" Then...

3) Reach out to the more active local investors and ask if you can do a "ride along", or look over their shoulder for a day. The going rate for this type of one-one coaching is about $500.00/day.

After you've met 2-3 active, local investors focus on getting into a mentoring/coaching relationship with one for 3-6 months.

There are a lot of moving pieces to becoming a real estate investor, but every great journey always begins with a first step. You've taken the first one by posting here, now keep going. It only gets better and more rewarding...
