Apartment Newbs in the Bay Area

Hello,

Name is Igor. My wife and I moved the bay area from Seattle, WA in July 2015 for some new jobs.  Our financial goal is to invest into apartments in order to produce passive income so that we don't have to tied to down to our jobs so much.

We are looking to meet with folks who are in the apartment business that can show us the ropes and allow us to invest passively in a couple of deals before we try it out ourselves.

Hi Igor,

Some ideas for you.

1) Check out apt syndication deals.  You can learn intentionally by being a passive investor to start.  Usually you need to be accredited.  Many BP synidcators hang out in the apt forum.  PM me and I can give you some names.  Most have solid total return opportunities for cash flow and appreciation.

2)  Read some great books on MF investing: Dave Lindahl (MF Millions) and Steve Berges (Complete Guide to Buying and Selling Apts)

3) Find a local MF meetup group if available or create your own

4) BP podcasts and forums on apt investming

5) If serious, consider hiring a coach to ramp you faster.  I have some ideas.
