Newbie Investor from Chicago

Hi!

I'm a new real estate investor from Chicago. I am just about finished with my PhD in Cell Biology from the University of Chicago and am looking to get a jump start on real estate investing. I feel like half my time in PhD school was devoted to stalking the real estate in Chicago and reading blogs on real estate investing :). My partner and I bought our first home a few months ago and are looking to acquire a few more properties as a source of rental income. I found Bigger Pockets when I was scrolling through articles comparing paying cash verse leveraging investment properties. I was thoroughly impressed by the writing and the very knowledgable conversations that took place in the comments section afterward. And now I'm here :), to learn, to network, to find new ideas and new perspectives from this huge community.

Looking forward to interacting!
