Hello BP family, I'm J.  Yes, that really is my name, it's not simply an initial...quite unusual, I know.  Born and raised in New York City; currently living in Atlanta, GA.  I actually got a hold of "The Book on Rental Property Investing" (which I'm currently reading along with a few other RE books when I can get a few minutes in) and that led me here.

Growing up around big buildings and huge apartment complexes always left me curious about how those places were ran, and who the owners were.  Fast-forward to today and now my ultimate goal is to be one of those owners.  Right now my partner and I are looking to get our start in her home state of Michigan, somewhere she's very comfortable with and definitely within our budget for the time being.  We've chosen to dive in completely self-funded...not the easiest or quickest route, but I think it works well for the plan and pace we've set for ourselves.   I'd like to build a nice portfolio of MFHs but the idea in a nutshell is first to flip some SFHs (something that I actually find exciting) to raise more capital.  My partner is emotionally invested in Michigan so in her case it's not all about the money, and that actually helps my focus as well.

Just what I've read in the short time I've been looking around is enough to let me know I can find some very helpful information and pretty cool people here.  I look forward to interacting with you guys and picking some of your brains on occasion!
