New to investing, need help!

I am very new to investing and actually have not done my first deal yet. I do own a home but did not know what I was doing when I purchased it. Even though I do love my home, I'm not sure if I overpaid and my agent was not really helpful in negotiating. Nonetheless I love my home but my next investment will be more strategic than an emotional one. I have read BP's free e-book as well as Phil Pustejosky's free ebook but still feel helpless as I don't know a single person in the investment world. I reside in sin city Las Vegas and wel come any advice from those who know or have invested in this market. I am interested in duplexes and SFR, buy and hold. Open to flips as well.

Thanks!
