I am just your above average 21 year old looking to secure financial freedom early. Growing up my biggest fear was always sitting behind a desk in a cubicle day in and day out hoping one day I might get the chance to move up the ladder. As I have gotten older that fear grew and grew until i turned it into motivation. I have all the respect in the world for the people that do those jobs but I know it would eat away at me if i pursued that path. I got lucky the summer after i graduated high school and began a part time career in sales working for vector marketing selling Cutco knives. That experience opened up many doors and also helped open my eyes to the possibilities. I amassed $112,782 in sales during the 2 years I worked there and also was given the opportunity to run my own branch office for three months during the summer of 2014. All of this was amazing experience and helped to open my eyes to the real world of business.
I grew up in a middle class family one parent being a teacher and the other working in marketing. They always provided me with everything I ever needed as well as teaching me great life skills from a young age. They never just gave me something I wanted. I always had to earn it and I believe that really inspired my competitive nature and frugal spending habits. I have always been hungry for knowledge and a voracious reader. My mother was always looking for a new house and the thought always excited me from a young age. I would go look at houses with her, compare prices, estimate costs of renovations with her and my father(who worked many summers when younger working construction jobs, as did I) and always learning about what specific things people focused on while looking for houses.
I transferred colleges my freshman year after having baseball related surgery and wanting to put my time in at a bigger school. I moved up to Fayetteville, AR and after living on a friends couch for a while looking for a good place to move into, my parents decided they were going to invest in a house for me to live in and rent out the other rooms. Now my mom and I had always watched the house flipping shows and my aunt and uncle are real estate agents, but this was the first time I had directly been involved in any type of real estate investing. Within ten days of deciding that they wanted to invest and buy a house, I found one, they closed on it, and we began renovations. Now besides a contractor coming in and doing work for three days, my father and I did all of the work on the house. She was quite a fixer-upper as well. Every wall had to be scrubbed and painted, we had to rip up 90% of the flooring, laid our own tile(which turned out perfect but was one tough exhausting experience), tore down a non-permitted room and built a screened in porch, along with many other small fixes. This took us two months and the house was move in ready. Our realtor came by and was astonished saying we almost definitely doubled the value of the house. Countless friends and even people from the neighborhood came by to see the house and all were amazed and gave stellar reviews and comments like "wow i wish i could find a place like this up here." That really lit my fire and made me think "Wow two months ago i was dreading living in this place and now people are envious of the place I'm going to live in!" This excited me as I realized, wait I can create places just like these and have people excited to be living in them. I also genuinely enjoyed the whole experience and challenges of fixing it. I also realized I am in a very fortunate situation of my aunt and uncle being real estate agents and being very open to using their resources to help with paperwork and legal questions as well as my own parents being very supportive and knowledgeable in the space. I am surrounded by a supportive group of people who believe in me and always looking to add to that group. Now I want to dive in and change peoples lives providing good living situations for people and of course making a decent amount of money. I've always believed in myself and whatever I do I believe I will be successful. Wrapping up this long bio I hope to have conveyed my drive and excitement to not only start this stage of my life but also to learn from people who have been doing this for years. I'm ready for action and committed to the art of real estate investing.
Hopefully you read this long bio and get some insight in to who I am and haven't discredited any of this because of my young age. I look forward to not only be on my way to financial security but also help investors gain more financial security as well as another strong relationship. Thank you for reading and I look forward to interacting with all of you.
