Right now I am pre approved for a VA loan and I have a real estate agent looking for duplexes for me so I can live in one side and rent the other one out. My goal is to accomplish that task and repair anything needed and move out into another house within 6months to a year. Once I have the duplex rented out and I'm living in the house, I would like to remodel it, while living in it and rent it out or sell it once I'm done remodeling it. I'm not sure 100% of what my plan is, but that's the start of it and I am trying to learn as much as possible and plan as I go. Pretty much within two years I would like to have a duplex and a house rented out, a permanent house for myself to live in. And I would like to make some sort of income/cash flow through rental properties or flipping to pay for my mortgage for the house I would be living in, but I'm not sure whether to flip houses or to rent them out. Also, I don't know whether to keep a job, work for myself through my company that I haven't done anything with yet, or just flip houses
