Hi, everyone!
My name is Johnathan Massie, and I'm brand new to the BP forum, although I've been lurking for a while, reading the articles and soundtracking my long drives with the podcast.
I am a wholesaler working primarily in South Minneapolis, living in Lyndale Neighborhood. I've just recently gotten started in the biz, and I'm working with a 10-year wholesaling/rehabbing vet applying my strengths where his don't reach — systematizing, scrubbing leads, planning/executing marketing and implementing CRM solutions —in return for an apprenticeship of sorts.
Together, we've wholesaled two properties in the past two months - my first two. I'm psyched to see the process work for real after 2+ years listening to podcasts and wondering why this sounds so easy to do, yet so impossible to get started! While I'm watching and learning the finer points of negotiating with sellers, filling out contracts and estimating rehabs, I'm almost always at the local REI stuff (MNREIA, MNREC, Millennial Investor Focus Group, and more) trying to network and learn what I can about marketing for motivated sellers.
I grew up in Kansas City (Go Royals!), and my goal is to expand my investing to that market, as well as the Lake of the Ozarks, where I spent time each summer as a kid. Long-term, I'd like to hold traditional and vacation rentals locally, in KC and at The Lake (Missourians know there is only one 'The Lake', haha), as well as in some of my favorite travel spots.
Anyway, nice to meet y'all! I look forward to sharing the things I know and absorbing as much as I can from other members —I am always looking to grow personally and professionally. My current all-consuming knowledge quests are Podio automation, direct mail marketing, and lead-capturing websites/SEO optimization.
