Hello, everyone!

Despite working my way into a very well-paying job in the IT field, there's something in me that knows I can't work a 9-5 job behind a desk for the rest of my life. Having recently turned 35 and having our third child born has spurred me to do something about it.

I've always been enamored with the real estate world (who hasn't!), and I feel like I could make a good living by immersing myself in it.

Today is the day that I take the first step towards a new career/business.

Hey @Corey Smith

Let me first say, it's always good to have another voice joining the Puget Sound community.

If you're looking for first steps, I would say that the Podcasts and reading the Ultimate Beginner's Guide are good starting points. Along with the various blogs, that's a great starting point.

If you're looking for actionable steps, you should start by really considering which aspect of REI most attracts you. Are you going to be a landlord? Flip houses in your off time? Wholesale deals? Invest in notes? Nail that down, and then look into which geographic area you'd like to focus on. Does proximity matter to you? Low entry price?

If you need any help, reach out to the community, remember that you can tag individual members by typing "@XYZ" and then waiting a beat or two. If they have commented in the thread, or if you are colleagues with them, their name will pop up and you can tag them.

Cheers!
