New to the market from the UK!
Hello everyone,
I am a 24 year old, been working as a real estate agent in London for the past 3 months. I immediately grown an interest in the property market and, despite not being sure whether the "sales" part of my job I enjoy, I definitely enjoy getting to know the current property market and that led to me signing up to this community.
My goal would be eventually to be able to be a full-time investor. This is a long term goal (say 10 years from now, I want my main and only income to come from properties I own). I want to invest slowly but I am eager to learn and educate myself since I see this as a potentially strong and stable source of income for the future.
By browsing the community here for a couple of days I immediately realised how vast and extensive the resources for me to learn here are, for that reason I have signed up to the forum and looking forward to start asking questions, read through your stories and hopefully being able to contribute to it very soon!
A quick summary of my situation. I have decided to start saving for my first property. Luckily my current partner will buy (with help from family) a BTL flat where we eventually will be able to live in a couple of years. My savings at the moment are around the £10k and of course I know I have to raise that to a considerable amount to open my first BTL mortgage.
I am based in London but I will probably start investing outside London, in other parts of the UK.
As my first question I would kindly ask you if you knew any resource that I could start reading regarding specific investment in the Uk, which I assume being different by the US market.
I am sure BiggerPockets and its extensive community have UK investors so I would be grateful if any of them could guide me through and recommend a starting point for the UK market.
Thank you
