Hello to the wonderful world of BP! I've been lurking on BP for the last 6 months and figured enough is a enough, time for an introduction. I'm 28 and from Campbell,CA my wife and I purchased our home in 2011 that needed a full renovation. We did the work 100% ourselves with the help of a very skilled father in-law and some great friends. Which to me was an invaluable / great learning experience. Long story short it has doubled in value in this crazy Silicon Valley market. Currently in the process of getting a HELOC to have down payment / renovation funds available for future properties.
I am primarily interested in buy and hold multi-family (4 to 10 units) but not totally against SFH. With possibly a few flips mixed in. I know the greater San Jose area quite well (job related) and plan on focusing my attention here. I am pretty skeptical of this "bubble" the Bay Area is in and personally feel it is quite unsustainable but who really knows!! Thanks for reading.
