Brand new to real estate.

Hi, my name is Timothy and I recently found this website after doing some searches on websites that could help me with investing in real estate. I became interested in real estate after I met someone who claimed to own two small rentals and tried to encourage me to look into it.

Now, I do work alot of hours and I haven't taken the time to read any of the FAQS regarding new members and posts so please forgive me if I ask some questions here that would have been answered before or if some of my questions seem pretty noobish.

My first question is it possible to buy a rental property with very little or no money down? And by very little I mean with only a few thousand dollars. Is it even feasible, or should I put off investing in real estate until I have a lot of money. Like 100k or more? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

....And hello everyone at biggerpockets! :)
