Hello from a current grad student

Hello all,

My name is Joshua Visalli and I am currently a 24 y/o optometry student. I live in Philadelphia with my wife Meghan who is in NP school. originally we are from Utica, NY and plan to move to the south (possibly Nashville, TN) once done in Philly. I have no real estate experience (maybe negative if you count that I am currently a renter). I enjoy spending lots of time on my computer researching future plans for repaying school loans, investing, and retirement.

Enter BiggerPockets, which I am so glad I found. Currently, I plan to use real estate investing to build passive income to pay off student loans and then we'll see from there. I like the idea of financial independence (who wouldn't?) and I love what I do as well, so i can see a future where the two mix (work less but not give it up kinda thing).

For now I have 2-3 years before I will have enough money to buy a property (thinking of starting with a 4-plex and living there to start). I have a lot of learning to do and am excited for it. I'm off to read the ebook Ultimate Beginner's Guide to Real Estate Investing. I look forward to reading through the forums and future interactions with BP members!
