I am from Japan and have worked at Houston from 2014.

I am interested in buy and hold rentals of SFH. I just started to learn real estate investment by reading several books, but I also want to learn it and make good network at BiggerPockets site.

I have already tried to purchase (I did offer) properties several times, but unfortunately I could not buy under hot seller's market. I will continue to look for good property.

My actual target market is Cypress because Cypress is good school area but price is less higher than Katy or Sugar Land. But this is just "Newbie's" idea. So I would like to learn and talk about target market (and so on) with other members.

I would like to purchase property with finance in the future, but I am thinking of starting 1st investment by cash.

Thank you !!

Koji, There are less expensive rentals in Katy, you just have to know how to find them. I purchased two properties this month under 100k in Katy ISD with rents at $1300/mo.

How are you finding deals?
