Hi everyone. My name is Syed and I'm truly a newbie investor. I currently live in Laurel, MD. I work as an optometrist and have no experience in real estate beyond buying and living in a house. I've always wanted to be a buy and hold investor but the usual self limiting beliefs have held me back (live in an expensive area, don't have a huge down payment, etc.)
I joined Bigger Pockets a few days ago and have been reading articles non stop. I'm really looking forward to my first (hopefully) successful deal!

Welcome to BP Syed. The myth that we live in too expensive of an area to invests destroys the dreams of many here. I use to own a property in Laurel where you live. I bought it for $60k and I got $1250 a month in rent for it. Yes people I bought a cheap property that meets the 2% rule on the DC Metro area.
